Founded in 1965, the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) has grown to a global network of city and regional planners, creating and sharing knowledge for better cities, advocating for education and planning practice, and supporting city and regional planners in all places and all fields of activity.
Central to ISOCARP is the annual World Planning Congress. Each year since 1965, the Congress is hosted in a different city, comprehensively exploring vital topics in the field of city and regional planning, through the lenses of theory, policy and practice. ISOCARP Congresses provide a unique forum for inspiring exchange, sparking of ideas, and establishing professional contacts with colleagues from all around the world. Attended by 500+ international delegates, ISOCARP Congresses are small enough for personal interchange of ideas, yet international and inclusive, bringing together a broad network of expertise and perspectives from the Global South and North.
